#HuCo: The Human Collective is born!

This Summer 2017 art curator/critic Renata Summo-O'Connell, photographer Giulio Rimondi, writer Bruno Arpaia, composer Lazzaro Ciccolella have formed #HuCo, the Human Collective.
Nell'estate del 2017 si è formato il collettivo artistico #HUCO, HUman Collective, dalla collaborazione tra Renata Summo-O'Connell, curatrice e direttrice di Artegiro Contemporary Art, fotografo Giulio Rimondi, lo scrittore Bruno Arpaia e il compositore Lazzaro Ciccolella.
Inspired by their recent encounter within the COCOAA project, on the solid ground of their previous collaborations, the four members have decided to form a collective with the aim of producing together reflections and work on what concerns them the most: humanity.
Ispirati in particolare dal loro recente incontro nel contesto del progetto COCOAA, sulla solida base di loro precedenti collaborazioni, i quattro membri del nuovo collettivo hanno deciso di formare HUCO con lo scopo di produrre insieme riflessioni e opere su quello che li interessa profondamente: l'umanità.
As the art collective name suggests, all that is human is their concern, humanity matters, now and in the future.
Come suggerisce il nome che hanno scelto per il loro collettivo, tutto ciò che umano oggi e in futuro concerne HUCO.
The unlikely collaboration amongst a photographer, a writer, a composer and a curator/critic, was sparked by a recent discussion around migration between Giulio Rimondi and Renata Summo-O'Connell, who have collaborated now for 6 years.
Una collaborazione insolita tra un fotografo, uno scrittore, un compositore e un curatore/critico, è stata ispirata da recenti discussioni tra Giulio Rimondi e Renata Summo-O'Connell, sulla migrazione, tema che i due, che collaborano da sei anni, hanno affrontato in varie occasioni
The idea emerged from their collaboration is to produce an installation that will question current paradigms around migration, displacement, relationship between future and history, ancient and current mediterranean narrative around these themes.
L'idea emersa dalla loro collaborazione è di produrre un'installazione che interroghi i paradigmi attuali che inquadrano la migrazione, lo spaesamento, le relazioni tra futuro e storia, antico e attuale, anche nel contesto narrativo di queste tematiche.
The desire is to explore many expressive languages that may allow such discussion and to develop new exchanges between artists and public.
Il desiderio è di esplorare più linguaggi espressivi che possano permettere di ricercare e sviluppare nuovi occasioni e modalità di scambio tra artisti e pubblico.
The extraordinary trait of the collective's work is the way it operates. It is not common for artists with such diverse expressive languages to have the opportunity to discuss their own artistic languages and practices, let alone to actually work together. Fluxus, CAE and other significant art collectives of the past as well as some current collectives sought to explore together literature, music, visual arts.
Una caratteristica importante del lavoro del collettivo è la modalità stessa secondo la quale opera. E' infatti non comune per artisti che usano linguaggi espressivi così diversi cercare la possibilità di non solo discutere la propria pratica artistica, ma anche di avorare insieme. FLuxus, Cae e altri collettivi artistici che hanno fatto storia, così come alcuni attuali collettivi hanno tentato con più o meno successo di esplorare insieme letteratura, musica, arte.visiva.
With remarkable courage, in a rather challenging period of history, HUCO has decided to face with clarity and straightforwardness the challenge to think together, to create together work that is not only new in concept and mode of expression, but especially may connect creative thought with creative action, with a possibility to impact change. In un momento particolarmente difficile del nostro tempo, con notevole coraggio, HUCO ha deciso di far fronte con chiarezza e schiettezza alla sfida al pensare insieme, al creare insieme opere d'arte che non siano solo concettualmente e espressivamente nuove, ma che possano specialmente collegare il pensare creativo al gesto creativo con una possibilità di produrre impatto e cambiamento.
